Why can't I export my XML file?

    I’ve been trying for two days to download my XML file but it just won’t work?
    I do know how to do this and have done this several times before.
    I have however encountered exactly the same problem on some previous occasions.
    Please can someone advise me what to do next?

    Is that through Dashboard->tools->export? I’ve just exported mine OK. What error are you getting?

    Yes. That is exactly what I am doing.
    I either get no message at all or the one that says something along the lines of there’s something wrong with our servers – probably Matt’s fault.
    I’ve had this happen quite often.

    I am trying again at this moment but it still just won’t work?
    I am trying to download all content.
    I was able to download for pages only but not at all for posts
    I have tried to do this via 2 browsers.
    I have cleared the caches on both browsers.
    The link goes to a screenshot of this last attempt.
    I’ve tried to provide you with everything you might need to solve this but is there anything else?

    The screenshot’s odd – completely blank. I’ll flag this for staff attention to see if they are aware of any issues. Please be patient as it can take a while for them to get round to your thread.

    I am a little anxious as the integrity of my content has been threatened by a couple of unscrupulous “hackers” who allege they are using a hacking programme to access all of my accounts on Friday 20th.
    I already lost some content as they were able to obtain the password of one of my editors and whilst I have secured my own passwords, with a password manager, I can’t rely on the children who edit for me, to be quite so vigilant.
    Also, I don’t like it when things don’t work for me and this seems to happen to me a lot when I’m trying to do this!
    I read a (now closed) forum thread started by someone with the same problem and I think it can only be rectified by staff.

    You may have run into issues due to the size of your blog.

    You can download your export file by going to your blog’s Dashboard and then looking under the Tools tab for Export. More information can be found here:

    If your export process stalls out because of the size of your blog, please post a new thread requesting further assistance.
