Why can't i get in to update my website?

my wordpress account lets me in with the correct password, but then when I go to change anything, it asks for my password info again and tells me the username is invalid. How do i get in to change anything if i cannot get past this????

I noticed that the blog that you need help with is a self-hosted WordPress.org blog. These forums are focused on helping users with their WordPress.com blogs. You may have better luck asking in the WordPress.org support forums.

I think the link is to the wrong siteif it is .org it cannot find my email and is having the same problems! I can login the first time under .com but blocks me on the second login prompt, which people familiar wordpress say is not supposed to happen. I’ve checked settings (I can get in and do that) removed cookies, changed my password a bunch of times, etc. Should I just cut my losses and start over with another program or page or am I missing something simple here? I paid someone to put up this site and long story short are just trying to get someone to update it. but they cannot update it when the login feature won’t let them in!

Ah, I think I get it now.
Once you log into the WordPress.com account, you probably headed to the My Sites page, which has a link to http://www.brookscontractor.com/wp-admin/.
You’ll need a different username and password for the second website. With any luck, you should be able to recover it here:
