This is the only spot I can get to. When I try to access the dashboard it just spins and then says “the following pages have become unresponsive. you can wait for them to become responsive or kill them.” I’ve tried with chrome and internet explorer and cannot get past this point.
-
Even trying to click on the links in your post the same thing happens. It just spins for awhile and then the message “The following pages have become unresponsive…”
-
When I try to access the dashboard
Which dashbaord?
What is the exact link of the page starting with http:// that you get that message on? -
I get that message:
1. when I try to click on any of the links in your previous post.
2. when on wordpress.com, I click on ‘my sites’, and then I click on ‘yourltcadvisor.com’
3. when I try to go to my dashboard: https://aaronltc.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ -

The effects you’ve described (spinning) appear to be due to either slow loading or some connectivity issue. What type of device are you using? Is your internet connectivity functioning well when you visit other sites? Have you updated your browser(s) lately? Try Firefox.

In order to help Staff may need to know your specific computing environment details. Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:

4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/
(c) Exactly what you experience including what any error reports you receive state. -
1. I am using an HP m6-1035dx laptop
2. I have chrome 39.0.2171.71, also trying with Explorer 11 for Windows 7
3. when I try to access wordpress I get the message “the following pages have become unresponsive. you can wait for them to become responsive or kill them.” Or it just spins forever and nothing happens. That happens even after clicking on any of the wordpress links that you have recommended I go to.
I have been using the same computer with all of the same browser and everything for a couple years, and this just started happening.
-
That’s a Google Chrome error message. It strongly resembles a script error message I’ve been getting on Firefox (always latest version) for the past six months or so.
See these Google search results (link) on the search “the following pages have become unresponsive” Google Chrome error.”
-
Again, I can’t access wordpress no matter the browser…internet explorer, firefox, it doesn’t matter. That’s just the message when in chrome, and this is the only website I’m having issues with. Does it seem like there’s a security setting that needs to be changed?

@aaronkancevicius
I tagged this thread for Staff 2 days ago and sadly the back and forth thread bumping with added information has led nowhere. All it has resulted in is two days without an answer. I’m hoping the back and forth will stop now, so the timestamps stop moving forward which guarantees it takes longer to get Staff help. I’m hoping the same bumping after tagging pattern on other threads tagged for Staff will also stop. -
Hi there,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble. We serve WordPress.com out of multiple data centers in the USA and utilize Content Delivery Networks around the world to make sure static assets (CSS and JavaScript) are delivered as quickly as possible to our users around the world. It is possible there is some sort of connection problem between your location and one or more of our facilities. Could you open the following URLs and tell me if you have trouble loading some or all of them?
Also, do you use any firewall software on your computer? If you do, you might want to try temporarily disabling it to see if that makes a difference for you. (It’s possible an update to the software is causing trouble when you try to access WordPress.com sites, even if you didn’t make any changes.)
-
http://wordpress.com/ does not load, it starts to then just spins forever.
http://s1.wp.com and http://sat.wordpress.com I can open.
I turned the windows firewall off and didn’t seem to make a difference.
-
Thanks for letting me know. Since you can open some of those links without any trouble, it seems to be an issue with particular things that are trying to be loaded on the pages that are giving you that error.
You mentioned that this happens in multiple browsers, but to start I’d like to focus on the Chrome browser. Do you get the same error if you go to that page in Incognito mode?
-
-
Alrighty. To figure out what’s causing the problem, I’d like to take a peek at the HTTP headers in Chrome — that’ll show how long it’s taking to load different elements on the page, so we can see what’s unresponsive.
We have a guide for finding HTTP headers in Google Chrome to walk you through that process.
After you take the screenshot(s) mentioned in that guide, please email us (support AT wordpress DOT com) and attach your screenshots to that email. Alternately, you can use an online service like Snaggy.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that!

This has been strange…last night I took my laptop to a different house to show someone what is was doing. When I signed into their wifi everything worked perfectly. So I brought it back to my home office and the same problem was happening, I could get on other sites, but wordpress would not load.
I immediately called my internet service provider, they did troubleshooting of the router, flushed dns, did a ping of wordpress, everything seemed to be working…but still it wouldn’t load. I unplugged the router all night. This morning I plugged it back in and it still wouldn’t load.
So I started running the HTTP headers and taking screenshots as you recommended, at first it wasn’t loading, but as I was taking the screen shots it suddenly loaded and started working just fine. Everything is loading fast and working like normal again.
I have no idea what happened, but if it acts up again I will be back in touch.
