Why can't I have text lines one after anotehr without that huge space in between

  I am trying to post a scene. With quotations and I don’t want a big space in between each line. I want to be able to have it look just like it is looking now, only it will be a conversation. When I try to do that it gives me this huge space/ indent and it takes up too much room. This is how I want it to look

  ” I said no”
  “But you meant, yes”
  “No, I meant no”

  This is what it looks like even though on my page it looks like the above until I click save, then it moves.

  ” I said no”

  “But you meant, yes”

  “No, I meant no”

  And no matter of copying and pasting or attempting to get that huge space to go away works. If I attempt to do it, it scatters the text and puts some to the left, some to the right. IT DRIVES ME NUTS.

  I have asked how to fix this multiple times and have been ignored. I’m asking again. Can you help?
