Why can't I import an xml file in wp format?

  I cannot import an XML file and I recivied the following e-mail from (email visible only to moderators and staff) a me: “We are sorry, but there was an error while performing your blog import to http://vergarablog.wordpress.com
  Please contact support, and we’ll get everything fixed.”

  I’ve just reset that import process for you. Could you try uploading your XML file once more via the Tools -> Import page?

  If you still see this error message, could you please send us a copy of your XML file?

  My XML file is 17.554KB. Could be the dimension of the file my problem?

  It’s possible. Can you let me know what blogging platform you’re importing from? Would you be able to filter your export file by date, so that it’s broken down into smaller pieces?
