Why can’t I launch my site for free?

  Hi, I created my blog, and I only want to use the free domain/plan. But every time I click ‘launch site,’ the only options given are for paid domains. Why can’t I publish my site according to the free settings??

  Hi there!

  You can launch your site without the need to upgrade. When you’re prompted to choose a domain, choose the free option and Skip purchase. If you do not see the free subdomain, make sure you type in the whole address, together with the .wordpress.com.
