Why can't I log in to certain things only?
-
Hello,
I’ve been enjoying my WordPress experience, but I’ve encountered a problem since Day 1 that I finally felt motivated to address. (I didn’t see this answered elsewhere, so please forgive me if it’s a repeat topic.) WordPress seems to not recognize my log-in on certain functions. Even when I am already logged in, WordPress sometimes acts like I am not. For instance, if I want to “like” a post on somebody else’s blog, it will often ask me to log in, even when I am already logged in. So I log in using the drop-down box under the Like button, and it asks me again, having not recognized my log-in. (I am able to leave comments, just not “like”.) The same thing happened when I tried to view my 2011 Annual Report. I was already logged in, I tried to click on the report from my dashboard, and it asked me to log in again. I did, and it asked me to log in yet again. So I gave up. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a solution to this?
My blog is http://picsofthen.com And if it helps any, an example of a blog that I’ve never been able to “like” (even though I post comments) is http://thenatureniche.com
Thank you for any assistance.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble. Does this happen consistently for you? Or only sometimes?
Could you check to make sure that you have cookies and third-party cookies enabled on your browser?

Hi evarlese,
Thank you for your reply. I looked, and I was accepting cookies, but not third-party cookies. That did the trick. The grey bar that’s supposed to appear along the top of any WordPress page when I’m logged in hadn’t been, but now it is. And now I can “like” posts, can view my Annual Report, etc.
Thank you for your suggestion!
-Matt
