why can't I log in to comment on a friend's blog?

  when I try to log into a friend’s blog to comment, I get an invalid username error.

  You are seeing a WordPress.ORG login screen and the two are completely separate. WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
