Why can't I log in to comment on other user blog
-
I am subscribed to another user. I can’t log in. Notification says I am not a user. Doesn’t recognize my email, or username, and notification says I am not a user, even when I am logged in already on another tab.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Subscribing to follow a blog does not make you an official user of the blog. What is the URL of the site you can’t comment on?
-
The url is Terry Squires @ http://wp.me/p3jV0w-bN . I think I know what might be the problem, but it shouldn’t make any difference. I subscribed to her blog with my yahoo email account, and my WordPress account is with Hotmail. When I got her blog post. I clicked on “comment on post”, and got a notification that said I had to log into WordPress. I was already logged in. It told me I didn’t have an account at WordPress, nor do they have any record of my Hotmail email that my WordPress account is on.
-
That is correct, that is why the problem is occurring. If you log out of WP.com before going to her blog, then you shouldn’t have the problem.

I am having the same difficulty and a google search of the problem reveals that this is a widespread issue that WordPress refuses to acknowledge to the average user who wishes to comment on another’s blog. It began for me when I joined WordPress and I have decided that without support for this issue WordPress is useless. I won’t be using WordPress.

Thanks for sharing.
@1happyidiot try logging out, then clearing your browser cache and cookies before trying to comment on her blog.

I’ve done that too. Don’t know if you’ve heard about webs.com, but I paid for a website there, and after building it, and being there a year, they changed the dashboard, and about half of us could no longer edit our sites. They had me try that too. Another user says he’s having this trouble as well, and now that he’s mentioned it, I have never received but one comment on my blog the whole time I’ve been @ WordPress. I always thought this was odd. Could be that no one can comment on it for the same reason I can’t. WordPress says there’s no account with 1happyidiot username, or my email. I’m on a phone right now, and logged in to post this reply without any trouble at all. One thing I haven’t tried is comment on that blog with my phone. If it works, I would rather stay with WordPress. I’ve had a lot of trouble with other web host. Oh well, I’ll post an update if I am able to post a comment with the phone.

You don’t have any comments because comments are disabled on your posts. See http://twocent2c2.wordpress.com/2014/01/06/the-founding-fathers/ there is no place to comment. Change that under Settings->Discussion.
-
@raincoaster. The comments are enabled. In fact, when I look at the post, the “leave a comment” box is visible. Are you saying it’s not when you look at it? If so, WordPress has some real issues. I also tried to Comment on that post with this phone. I got the same notification. When I tapped on “forgot password? “, and entered my email, notification said no user was registered with that email. That’s strange, because I had to use the same one to log in to post what I’m writing right now. If we can’t get, or receive Comments, it makes it a might hard to know if your on the right track with your content.
Now I can click a link on Google +, or come in from a click from the reader, or networked blogs, and post comments that way. I mentioned the trouble I was having @webs.com, and while there, I made a fake profile and logged in as another user, just so I could see my blog as you guys do. I am about to do the same here, because the comments are enabled on my blog here, and they show up when I post blogs. How come I can see them, but you can’t? (Twighlight music in background) :D I’ll try a fake profile and snoop my own blog, to see if I can comment on my own blog. Then I’ll post a result of that too

Okay, I just commented on the “Founding Fathers” blog. I actually submitted another topic question about the whole post vs the short versions, because I can’t figure out how to do that, and all the post are full length. Also @ raincoaster, the comments don’t show up on the blog, but if you go back to the “Founding Fathers” blog, and click on the orange bar that says “Founding Fathers”, you will see only that post, and the comments box is there. Why not on the regular blog? Lol, I would like to know how to post the short version instead of displaying the full post.
I also can’t find out in help, or anywhere where to archive some of them. I have another question go the forum about that as well. The issue with not being able to log in yo post comments is a real big problem though. I want to go pro on the account, but I’m a little Leary

Lol, the typos can’t be fixed either, because when I try to click the box I just typed the last response in, it kept asking me to leave page, or stay on page, lol. Modern technology, and smart phones. Thak you guys for comments, this is the most I’ve talking to other bloggers here yet. :) peace.
