Why can't I login?

  I can log into my blog (wandamacavoy.com), but when I try to put my username and password into the login block, it won’t accept it.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  If you can log in to your account at WordPress.com but you don’t stay logged in when you visit your blog’s custom domain, you may need to change your browser’s settings. Usually, that problem happens when your browser doesn’t have third-party cookies enabled. You can check your third-party cookies settings and learn more about that here: Preview Problems and Third Party Cookies

  If that doesn’t resolve the issue for you, please let me know exactly what URL is in your browser’s address bar when you try to log in and what error message. I can use that information to investigate further!

  I think that’s the problem, but I can’t figure out how to fix it. It happens when I try to comment on other blogs.
  Here’s one URL that doesn’t work: http://steamvalleybiblechurch.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fsteamvalleybiblechurch.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

  Hi there,

  Here are instructions for managing your cookie settings in popular browsers:

  • Enabling and disabling cookies on Mozilla Firefox
  • Managing cookies on Google Chrome
  • Managing cookies on Apple’s Safari
  • In Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, you’ll find the relevant settings under Internet Options → Privacy → Advanced

  You’ll need to make sure that third-party cookies are enabled in your browser’s settings. Please let me know if you have any other questions about that.

  *Allow local data to be set (recommended)

  Keep local data only until I quit my browser
  Block sites from setting any data
  Block third-party cookies and site data
  Manage exceptions… All cookies and site data…

  Only the first one is checked. I’m not sure what I am supposed to do. Under “All cookies and site data” WordPress has 11 cookies. Not sure what all that means.

  Those settings look right. If you try to log in to your site at http://wandamacavoy.com/ do you still have trouble? If so, please let me know exactly what you see on the screen when you try to log in. (If there are any error messages, please copy and paste them.)

  I took a look at the other site you mentioned, here: http://steamvalleybiblechurch.com/

  That site is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which is separate from WordPress.com. That means your WordPress.com login information won’t work there. (WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities, which you can read about more here: WordPress.com and WordPress.org) If you need additional help logging into or managing that site, you can get help from the WordPress.org forums here: http://wordpress.org/support/

  the other site is our church site and I was able to log into it, but now I can’t. (using a different user name and password)
