Why can't I place an image anywhere in my blog any more?

    Hello, I think WordPress has changed the way Add Media works. I can’t specify a location for an inserted image any longer, they are inserted at the top no matter what I do. The Image Editing function is a whole lot less user friendly, particularly caption editing. I can’t get rid of text widows any longer, the system consistently fails to update to make the change I want. If there’s a simple way to get round this, please could someone let me know what it is? Thanks.
