why can't i place the ads I want?

i don’t understand the so-called rules on advertising. if i own the domain, why can’t i put ads on it? that was my ultimate motivation for building out a site. The easy answer i keep seeing is ”well it doesnt matter anywhere your traffic is really low.” i don’t buy that. if its my domain i should be the one who can determine when i can put ads on it and where they are from. i understand needing to guard against scammers and porn sites but other than that it seems like you are meddling. this seems more like Facebook to me then. i might as well just start a Facebook page if i can’t place ads.

  • We do have an advertising program called WordAds, which you can read more about here:

    WordAds

Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed. For full details, please see:

If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. Please see this link to learn about the differences:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested:
