Why can't I post text from a Word file any more?
-
Why can’t I post text from Word, but only plain text? I usually compose using Word, then paste the text into a ‘new post’ form and do a final edit there. But the ‘paste from Word’ option has vanished from the toolbar on the ‘new post’ form, and I get a warning message telling me I can only post plain text unless I toggle the option off. The message doesn’t tell me how to do that and I can’t find any other way of doing so. All this makes for a lot more work in posting.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The message is correct: You can paste as plain text. You can paste from Word, sure, but it will strip out all links and formatting.
I suggest, if you like Word, you switch to an offline editor like Windows Live Writer. That can upload automatically and it doesn’t strip out links and formatting.

Thanks for the suggestion. What a stupid and self-destructive change for WordPress to make – especially as the message given is in fact misleading!

This has worked for years, but for some reason it stopped working today.
When I paste a word doc, the links get stripped out.
Any ideas as to what if anything changed????
thanks
