Why can't I see my Home page after setting up a static landing page?

    I want my ‘About’ page to be the landing page for my blog. I’ve followed the instruction on the support site http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

    By default, I already had a ‘Home’ page on menu, but created a new blank ‘Home’ page and published as per the instructions. I then set Front page to About and Post page to Home. when I check out the changes, it lands on About, but has greyed out Home as well and when I click it, it just shows About. I then tried a new approach and created a ‘Blog’ page to see if I could use that instead of Home. It half worked. My posts were now appearing on the blog page, but my About and Home still had a greyed out link with each other.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    The theme you are using greys out the title of whatever link you are currently on. So if you are on the about page, it will grey “about”. If you are on the freebies page, it will grey “freebies”. And so on.

    I’m currently seeing your blog posts as being your front page. Unless I am misreading, that is not what you were aiming for. Is that correct? Would you like me to try and switch it for you?

    Hi rootjosh, thanks for such a prompt response. I’ve just set up my front page to About with Home as post and kept it so you can see what’s happening – both the About and home are greyed and when I click home, it shows me about.

    I want About to be the front/landing page and then allow people to select home to see my streaming posts

    If you don’t mind a little advice…

    To be honest, having a menu item labeled “home” that doesn’t return people to your front page is going to be confusing for a lot of viewers. Virtually everyone these days expects a “home” button to take them to wherever the main URL would land
