Why can’t I see my portfolio page?

    Hello,
    I’ve published a post in my portfolio page. Other than a link to the post from the home page slider (featured image) the post isn’t discoverable anywhere. What am I missing?

    Hello,

    Could you please give the URL for your website so that we can look into it further.

    There might be chances that you are missing the Portfolio page in the menu bar. That’s because you haven’t added one to it yet.

    To add a portfolio page, you can use custom links. To do this, go to
    My Site > Customize > Menus > Main Menu
    Click on Add Items > Custom Links.
    You can add the link as <yourwebsitename>/portfolio/ and give the link text as Portfolio.
    For example, add dgwcreative.wordpress.com/portfolio/
    Click on Publish once you are all set.

    I guess my big question is …

    in the My Site menu I clicked on Portfolio. I published an entry. Why won’t it pop up in any of the menu pages?

    Overall what I’m looking for using the “Creative” template is:
    1) Home page with image links to groups of photos
    2) A portfolio where I can divide my visual work into categories
    3) An about page with my picture and a caption and contact info

    Hi David,

    Let’s take it one step at a time.

    1) Home page with image links to groups of photos

    I visited your site and I could see your post “David Wilson – Lighting Portfolio”. Seems like your homepage settings is to display the latest posts. Please go to My Site > Customize > HomePage Settings > A static page. Choose Homepage as Home and Posts page as the page you want(Blog or Portfolio for example)

    Check more on how to set up the creative theme here. It has a description on how you can get those clickable images on your homepage.

    2) A portfolio where I can divide my visual work into categories

    You can add different projects and organize them by adding project types and project tags which are similar to categories and tags.

    I already see a page for about and contact. Do you need anything else with it?
