Why can't I upload my own videos?
-
I’ve uploaded my own videos with video press on earlier posts, but it won’t take them now. Do I now have to buy an upgrade? I already pay a premium subscription. Any thoughts to help me? Thanks.

Hi there, the VideoPress upgrade is active on your blog https://spiritintheworld.wordpress.com and you still have plenty of space. I see that you were able to successfully upload several videos on October 26th. After that date, do you see an error message when you try to upload a video? What format is your video in, and how large is the file?

Jenia,
Thanks for the reply. You say I was successful on the 26th. I wasn’t; those videos were not processed and posted. I never got an error message. I tried multiple times. Sometimes I got “your video is being processed” with a “it will be completed in 10 minutes” message. Other times I didn’t get the second part, but the sequence never completed even after over an hour. The files are .mov, about 30 seconds each. Perhaps they are already there and I just have to enable them? -
Of the videos uploaded on October 26, only dike-and-bluff2.mov was processed.
The other two files are apparently not video files according to our system.
Were they slideshows?

All were video files. I’d appreciate any info on how to save them in a format that works well. But the other point is that the one you say was processed never posted. Where is it so that I can select and post it?

Videos don’t post on their own. Once uploaded and processed, you need to insert them: http://en.support.wordpress.com/videopress/
As for the videos that our system claimed weren’t videos, open them in QuickTime Player first, and choose File -> Export to -> Web, then try uploading the resulting video.

I’ve worked through each of the steps in the tutorial, but after I’ve selected the video from the media library entitled “Wing Dikes and Bluffs on the Missouri” and clicked “show” I don’t get that final field with the shortcode and the “embed” screen. That area is just blank.

That’s one of the videos that isn’t a video.
The only one that successfully finished processing on October 26 was “Dike and Bluff”.
