Why can't I upload new image files?

Is there a bug in the site? Today it will not allow me to upload new image files. When I click on “Select Files”, nothing happens…

Hi there. There have been some bugs regarding uploading and editing images, but most people reported them last week and in the threads I’m following staff had reported those bugs fixed, so your issue might not be related. Please try the following:
Try clearing your browser cache and cookies and also check whether you have the latest version of your browser and whether you can upload images using a different browser: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
http://browsehappy.com/If you were using the New Post editor in the Reader, try using the dashboard editor instead at Posts ->Add New, and vice versa.
If none of that works, or one option works and the other not, please let us know what browser and version you’re using and from which editor you’re trying to upload images.
