Why can't I upload PDF & docx files on wordpress?

  I cannot upload a file pdf or docx on wordpress. Every time I try I receive the following error message: sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.
  I have no problem uploading jpeg, png and other image formats, though.

  It is not a problem of the files, because my colleague can upload the same documents with no problem.

  Can someone help me?

  Hi there,

  That’s strange that you’re having problems uploading PDFs and .docx files to your site. Your account is not limited to prevent such file types, the only reason that they would be prevented is if the files were mislabeled in some way. If there was no extension on them at all (they were missing the .pdf or .docx) or they were in fact some other kind of file and were mislabeled as .pdf or .docx.

  To be sure, I just created a couple of test files and uploaded them to your site through the Media Library (Dashboard >> Media Library >> Add New) and they uploaded without any issue.
