So sorry, raincoaster. But I don’t feel too young; I’m old enough to be frustrated with all these young computer whiz kids changing things around at 80% of the speed of light. My credit union account does this to me as well.

Well, I understand the frustration (there’s a lot of frustration with recent changes at WP.com) but in this case the hoop is a very good one. You’ve no idea how many hack attacks WP.com blogs undergo. Forcing you to use a fresh, long, complex password is a good thing. Actually, the best security AND the easiest to remember, is a password that is a sentence with numerals in it and some capitals and no spaces. Like,
