Why can't we embed PayPal drop-downs?

  I am trying to add a PayPal donation button with a PayPal form so that people can select what they want to donate to. I successfully created the form and code and added it to a self-hosted WordPress website. Now I am trying to setup the same thing on a WordPress.com website that a friend of mine has. After reading through the WordPress.com documentation, it shows at https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/get-paypal-button-code/ that you cannot embed PayPal drop-downs into WordPress.com. WHY? Is there any reason? Or is it just because you are trying to annoy people like me? Sorry for my frustration, but if I can’t embed this it may result in me having to completely restructure our whole donation system.

  Hello

  The code that PayPal generates for the dropdown menus is not compatible with the WordPress.com hosting environment. For security reasons, we can not allow some code that is permitted on self-hosted WordPress sites.

  Thanks for the reply. Too bad I am not able to do that. I guess I will just need to find another solution to do this.
