Why did a large number of my pages disappear?

    I just added a new page to my website, and when I clicked ‘save’ for some reason a large number of the pages I have created just disappeared. I still have the pages saved within my admin area, but most of them have been deleted from view for those who view the website. Can you tell me what has happened, and can you fix it please?
