Why did I have so many hits to my blog?

Hi there – please can you let me know how I can track and work out why I had so many hits to my blog yesterday and today? I usually get between 4 and 30 on a really good day though yesterday I had 122 and today I had 102 so far though I can’t see that it has had many referals from search engines or referes so I am really intrigued as to where these hits came from – any ideas would be most appreciated, all the best and thanks in advance

I don’t see anything specific either.
It’s important to note that views are strictly page views. So, if I view ten posts on your blog, that’s ten views. Given this, it’s entirely possible that someone may have just attempted to view every post on your blog.

Hello, thanks for the really fast response, however that doesn;t seem to make sense as the stats table shows a total hits for one day of 122 and this figure is broken down into each different page that was looked at, eg the home page got 89 hits, water babies post got 16 hits etc, next one got 8 hits etc. So really intrigued as to how my home page got that traffic in the first place?

it definitely is an oddity, and those do happen from time to time. Stats are a reflection of human behavior, after all.
Maybe someone shared your site with friends?
