Why did I not obtain the domain name that I asked for?

Hi! I paid the 18$ to obtain a custom domain name: ley-of-the-land.net. I also purchased the premium upgrade. I appear to have received the following domain name: leyofthelanddotnet.wordpress.com. Is this because I have the trial version only? If so, when I renew for a full year after the 14-day trial period, will I automatically get the domain name that I asked for?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

I see that you purchased the WordPress.com Premium Upgrade, which includes a domain registration. When you signed up, it seems that the domain you chose was leyoftheland.com, which is active and working. If you also wish to pursue ley-of-the-land.net, let me know and I can help you with that.

Every WordPress.com site has a <something>.WordPress.com address, and always does. However, what can be done (as has been done in your case) is that you can map a domain to that address so that it takes on the appearance of your custom domain by changing all links created on your site to your custom domain, even though behind the scenes, it is still loading leyofthelanddotnet.wordpress.com. Whether or not you have a custom domain, your site will always be reachable at http://leyofthelanddotnet.wordpress.com.

If there’s anything else that I can help with, please let me know.
