Why did my blog go live already

I am still working on all my pages, but when I google my website name it has posts from my “welcome page” my “about page” etc..and it looks like it has chosen one of the themes I was looking at but that is not the one I want to choose?? How do I make sure that this is all hidden till I am ready to launch?

Thank you! now that it is private will those posts disappear from the search engine?
Also am I able to change that theme now because it was not a final choice ?

can you tell if I am self host or do I have wordpress as my host? A friend helped me set this up and so I am a little unsure of some of these settings. thank you again!

http://flipflopfoodidotorg.wordpress.com/ – your link to your name has a spelling error in itOnce you set the blog to private search engines will stop indexing it – but it takes a few months to clear the caches – but once you set the blog back to public – the search engines will start updating the index and cache with the new site as soon as you start making new Posts
If it was me – I would not worry too much about the wrong theme being indexed – most people don’t pay much attention to that part – just the content

How do I correct that spelling discrepancy? It should be flipflopfoodi without the “e”
I am sorry but I am such a green horn at this tech world! Would you suggest I hire someone to give me some concrete assistance so not to keep bothering support? Or are these questions legitimately ok to ask for support? -
The questions are legit – I will have some links below to help you get started
Since you have domain mapping the base blog name does not really matter much – but I like the two to match – I just think it is a bit more class
flipflopfoodi.wordpress.com – is available – just register it as a new blog
Dashboard >> My Blogs >> Register a new blog
You can then move the domain mapping and content to the new blog and keep the old blog to practice with (set it to private)
Since you are new to this I will flag this for the staff attention – if you ask politely they should be able to move everything for you – but you need to ask in small clear words (from all content and domain mapping from blog abcd to blog wxyz)

If you want to try and move the content yourself see below –
PLEASE NOTE – DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! – as long as you don’t delete anything – as long as nothing is deleted you are save no matter what error you might make – deleting stuff and a blog is gone forever
The best way is to move the content by export / import – the other method has had some issues

Thank you very much for your help! I don’t really feel comfortable trying to move the blog info myself who should I contact to help with that?
Also when I created the new blog does it matter what the “name of the blog is”? To keep them different I named the new one “Daphne” but thinking that I should have left it as flipflopfoodi?? Your thoughts?
I tried to change it but could not find a tool to assist with that.

The base name of the blog does not really matter much since you are using domain mapping – my personal preference would be for flipflopfoodi.wordpress.com – I think it has a bit more class – I also see that you have created that blog name.
I would have the blog title as flipflopfoodi or that as part of the title for example “Travels with the Flip Flop Foodi” (or could be FlipFlopFoodi) – something anyway to give people an idea of what your blog is about – or “Daphne the FlipFlopFoodi” –
To have the staff move things for you ask something like this (and please double check me)
Please move the domain name upgrade flipflopfoodi.com/ and the contents & any followers from flipflopfoodiedotorg.wordpress.com/ to flipflopfoodi.wordpress.com
Please do not delete any content from the old blog and leave it in place

So after reading the link “Transferring Your Blog to Another WordPress.com User or Account” it seems pretty straight forward to do a transfer blog myself? Just a couple steps from what I can tell.I noticed that it talks about transferring ownership..that just means I am transferring ownership from myself to myself, correct?
I just want to be sure I am doing the correct action for the need. But if you still think I should use a customer service person for this that works too.

Hi Daphne,
Despite what @auxclass said, we don’t generally move content for users unless they are for some reason unable to move it themselves. With that said, since it was promised to you I went ahead and took care of it for you. You’ll note that customizations which you have made such as your menu bar does not carry over and will need to be redone.
I have also moved your domain over and it is ready to go. You can set it as primary if you so desire by following these instructions:
