Why did my domain not auto-renew, causing a late fee for renewal?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
My domain (www.thumprmusic.com) was set to auto-renew, but it did not and now says that it expired. The credit card that was on file is valid, so I am not sure why the domain did not renew and there is now an $80 late fee. If WordPress cannot process that card for some reason, I will provide another one. If the late fee was triggered for separate reason, please let me know. Otherwise, please remove this late fee as this was not my error.

    Thank you

    Hi!

I’m not showing any auto renewal errors on the domain so I’m not entirely sure why this didn’t auto renew (assuming auto renew was setup). For a short time after expiration, it was possible to renew your domain for the regular amount. However, after a few weeks, we’re charged a late renewal fee by the registrar. Since we’re charged this fee by the registrar, we cannot wave it.

If you would like, you can renew your domain (total of $108) here:

Alternatively, if you do not want to pay the late fee, you can wait until the expiration process is complete and attempt to renew the domain name for the regular price. Please note, this normally takes 80+ days. During that time, your domain may be sold at auction to another party.
