Why did my font change?

Why has my font gone giant? The “paragraph” setting under the kitchen sink no longer works. All my past posts have a large, italic heading and then a regular “paragraph” font form for the post. My newest post suddenly changed to all large italics and I cannot fix it. I know that I cannot change the font style or size in WordPress, but I should be able to manipulate it a little bit under the kitchen sink. I cleared my browser cache and cookies but still no luck. Help?

I am not seeing that error. Are you sure you didn’t do something to change the font size on your browser (some setups will do it with just the wrong swipe on the mouse pad)?

Hmmm… Well on both my ipad and laptop the font is too large in the newest post. In the previous posts it is smaller and in print. What does it look like on your screen?

Also it looks normal when I am editing it, but when I look at the updated post the font has changed.

Okay, I agree. I’m seeing the same thing now that we know which posts we’re talking about. Did you copy-paste something from elsewhere on the web or from Word or some other program? Because that’s an HTML error that is very common when you copy paste.
Go to Settings->Writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML” and save. Then go back and set that recent post to Private, then set it to Public again. That causes this setting to take effect. That should fix it. If it doesn’t, let me know.

One thing I saw in your css is your font-size. It is set to 1.6rem. Font sizes are scaled in em (for responsive sites) not rem. Perhaps that is causing some of the trouble.

Thank you! After following your instructions, raincoaster, and clicking around for a while, I realized the problem was that the format had changed to “aside” instead of standard. I am very new to WordPress so your help allowed me to understand some settings I was unfamiliar with.
Jaynbtv, I am unsure where to find the css font size… Is this something I should change?
Also, I have a couple other questions if you guys would be able to help. One is that the youtube videos I put into the post at the bottom are no longer embedding. I have selected the broken link, but it still only has a link to another page, not the video itself. What went wrong?
And two, when I insert photos into my post they automatically upload as “large” but I would like them to upload as “medium.” It is frustrating having to go back and change each one. I don’t want to change the numerical dimensions of these sizes (as some forums suggest), but simply change the default upload size to the current “medium” dimensions. Any suggestions?
