why did my Page suddenly become a Post when I saved, & how do I change it back?

  I attempted to create a Page on my site, and save it as a subpage of another Page I created, but -twice- _three times_ now when I have saved it has somehow magically become a Post instead.

  (1) Why is this happening?

  (2) I deleted the first one, figuring I must have done something stupid, but when it happened again I simply reverted to draft. Since it’s for some reason been converted to a Post, can it somehow be converted back to the Page it was supposed to be?

  (of course, in addition to the fact that this is obnoxious and Not What I Wanted, it’s potentially fucking embarrassing, since my Posts are set to copy themselves to various other places and I didn’t even get an opportunity to say no, thank you, I don’t want that…. fortunately the third time I set it Private, so even though it posted as a Post instead of a Page yet a fucking gain, at least it’s not all over twitter anew.)
