Why did my post show up as a comment, needing my approval?
-
I created a new post, switched to “classic” posting experience when I didn’t see the tools I wanted, then published. After that I saw that on my Dashboard, something was awaiting my approval. It was my post and I approved it. Please tell me what, if anything, must I do to fix this and having it occur again? I am in no way comfortable with coding or anything like that.
Thank you in advance! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
What needed approval was what is called a “pingback.” It’s when someone mentions your blog in another post. You’ll get pingback notifications when anyone on any WordPress.com blog mentions one of your posts. It so happens that in this case you mentioned one of your other older posts, so you made a reference to yourself, so you got a pingback!
We have some additional information about pingbacks right here:
I hope this explained things. Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks soooo very much! It takes the right stuff to get through all the technical issues for me and you helped tremendously. Hope you enjoy the post, as well 😊

I’m always happy to help, and I actually set part of my day aside on Thursday to read through the blogs which I’ve run across throughout the week. I’m sure I’ll love it!
Hope you have a great rest of your week. :)
