Why did my sister get an email
-
My sister got an email about my new post, a post I did not intend to share and did nothing to promote. I am worried it got sent to others. Why did this happen and should I be worried? I cannot view to see who is subscribed or not.

Your blog followers are found here http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/?blog_subscribers
Your email subscribers are found here http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/?blog_subscribers&type=email
Who, aside from you, has access to your login information?
Go to your email program immediately and change the password to a very difficult one because that’s how many hackers gain access to blogs.

Hi @madisonsmissions, if your site is set to private, no emails will be sent out to followers, and no one will be able to see that post in their Reader, even if they were subscribed before the site was set to Private.
As @timethief suggests, review the users that you have invited to view your private blog and make sure that only those you want on in that list.
Also, if you leave your computer, and others have access to it, it is best to log out of WordPress and make sure that your password has not been shared with anyone. It is also a good idea to set up username/password on your computer and then put it to sleep when you walk away so that anyone with access would have to have those to be able to log into it.
On public sites (not set to private):
If you publish a post, anyone who has signed up to follow your site by email, or has your site followed in their Reader will get notification of that post, and anyone going to your site can see it as well.
If you write things that you do not want some people to see that may be on your email or blog following lists, it is best to Password Protect that post so that you can then give the password to only those that you want to see it. This is a pretty good way, but do realize that someone you give the password to could share that password and post link with others they know, or that know you, so keep that in mind.
