Why did my total number of followers just increase dramatically?

  I’m having the same problem with my number of followers. My twitter followers seem to have disappeared from my number of followers on my home page. I disconnected and reconnected with Twitter but it doesn’t seem to help.

  @anneinpt: On your Stats page under Totals, Followers & Shares, do the numbers of your WordPress.com Followers + Twitter + Facebook add up to what appears in the Follow Blog widget in your sidebar?

  I had the same problem. Usually my follower count is 130, and remained so for quite a while. I jumped to 237. I thought I was doing something right until I noticed my followers plummeted to 23. I followed the suggestion regarding publicize, and now find myself at 128. Trust me, that’s totally reasonable. I aim to get better as a writer, but I know I am not THAT good yet. Thank you for letting us know about the bug.

  Hi there- same problem here
