Why did one of my external links change?
-
Starting Saturday, 10/26/2013, in the afternoon, a very important link from my WordPress blog to my radio station’s radio player changed.
The link is supposed to be:
http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/mini.cgi?membername=accesssacramento&site=pro&tm=2553This is the link I used to direct my website visitors to a Live365 radio player, so they can listen to my show. It has worked for the last 3+ years, until yesterday. It seems that Live365 can’t resolve this redirect to my station’s player, so it just takes the listener to the top level page. They cannot find my show.
Is there any way around this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When I click on the listen now button, I’m getting sent to:
http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/mini.cgi?membername=accesssacramento&site=pro&tm=2553
Is that the link, or is it one elsewhere? Does this happen in multiple browsers for you?

Hi Rootjosh,
Thanks for the reply.
You’re getting sent to the right page. I forgot to mention–this incorrect rerouting only happens when I am NOT logged in to WordPress. I’m concerned, because most, if not all, of my listeners would not be logged in to WordPress.
This happens from Chrome, IE, and Firefox.
If you try it while not logged into WordPress, you’ll probably see the issue too.
Would this go away if I pay for the upgrade that removes all advertising from my page?
Thanks so much,
Mike -
I am not seeing this behavior when I log out of WordPress.com either. I get sent to the correct page.
Just out of curiosity, are you logged into your live365 account when you click the button? Also, have you checked your system for adware or spyware recently? (that last one is just a stab in the dark)

Thanks for the reply.
No, I don’t log into Live365, and my listeners don’t have to either. I’m really surprised that you are getting sent to the right page from the “Listen Live” link or the “Magic Twirl Button” link. Again, it works correctly for me when logged into WordPress, and not correctly when I’m logged out.
I did run a full Norton virus scan this morning, and my system is clear. The thing is, this happens to other people. I’d had listeners in other parts of the country report this to me; that’s how I found out about it.
Thanks,

I have actually been able to reproduce the error now.
We are looking into it. My apologies and thanks for your patience.

Thanks, Rootjosh!
Hey–did you guys fix it? It’s now working on all 3 of my browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox). I hope it was a solid fix, so that it doesn’t go back to that top level link.
Thanks again,

It’s not working again. What is happening with WordPress, where it keeps changing the most important link on my website, so that my listeners cannot find my radio station? Can you fix it please?
It’s the Listen Live link on the home page of http://www.twirlradio.com. It should link to: http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/mini.cgi?membername=accesssacramento&site=pro&tm=2553, but instead, it is linking to a WordPress redirect page. This is not professional, and not appreciated.

Hi Rootjosh,
It is working now. Thank you very much for getting this fixed! Do you think it will remain stable now?
