why did the "date posted" date change for all of my posts when i changed themes?

  i’m using illustrtr theme now. in the section below the post with the date posted, tags, and the “leave a comment” link, all the dates are now the date when i started the blog. i don’t think it was like this until i switched themes. i tried a few different themes out and they all had this problem. how can i fix this?

  figured it out…on the general settings page under date format i had entered 1/8/15 under custom when i should have entered m/d/y. so all the dates that displayed were 1/8/15. i think the initial theme i was using didn’t display the date so i didn’t notice until i changed the theme. dumb mistake.
