Why did the format of Freshly Pressed change?
-
This isn’t a problem, but I’m hoping you can forward this to whoever needs to hear this.
The new format for Freshly Pressed is horrible. I really appreciated the tile/thumbnail format, with all the links on a single page and a catchy headline for each, because I could quickly review all the posts that were featured and choose the ones I wanted to read. Now I have to scroll down a seemingly endless page full of big pictures and small text, so there is a very good chance I might miss something that would be great to read.
I may be feeling strongly about this, having had one of my posts Freshly Pressed a few months ago, but I really don’t think this new format gives these posts the full attention they deserve. Personally I got fed up after trying to scrolling through about three posts in the new format, and this is not good for me as a reader or for the authors whose work is somewhere further down the page. I strongly encourage WordPress to go back to the old format.

To display Freshly Pressed in a tiled format that may be more to your liking, you can click on the new “grid” icon at the top right:
