why did the post I made today not appear in the reader?

2 days ago a post I made appeared but with no image (at least on my computer) and today’s post did not appear at all

Something similar: a post I made yesterday showed up in the reader as if I posted it nine hours before! And with no picture. Thoughts|?

As you have assigned a combined total that exceeds 15 Categories/Tags to your posts, you need to edit and delete. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/ After removal of the excess categories and/or tags note it may take several days for your posts to begin displaying there.
You are inadvertently spamming AKA tag spamming. You ought to be more concerned about Google and Bing than the WordPress.com Topics pages because it’s search engines that send a significant flow of traffic to blogs and they can choose to bury your content where the sun don’t shine for tag spamming.
The rule of thumb is to assign the least, not the most, combined number of only relevant categories and tags that accurately describe the post content.

there were extra tags in the post because i added the ones suggested on the page that appears after the post has been published, so i won’t be doing that again. however it doesn’t explain the post that appeared without its featured image. I’ll see how it goes, thanks for the advice.

you were absolutely right. i just edited the post and removed the extra tags and “hay presto” – the post magically appeared. You learn something new every day. thanks.

I don’t think so, although I am sharing a link from Facebook. I wonder does that cause the problem?
