Why did the trash folder delete my blog posts?
-
Why did the trash folder delete my blog posts? I had deleted several posts that I meant to revise one day. WordPress used to let me do this. I was able to repost my original blog post nearly a year after deleting it in this way. However, now it deleted several posts after only a month of being in the trash, and the folder completely disappeared. I had to delete another post just to find it again, and when I did, the posts I meant to revive were gone. Any help in reviving them would be helpful.

Why not save them as drafts?
From the Deleted Posts and Pages support page:
The Trash feature allows you to remove items without permanently deleting them. If you have previously moved an item to your trash folder, you can restore it within 30 days from the time the item was trashed. After 30 days the posts in trash will be automatically permanently deleted.
I believe the trash auto-delete delay period has been 30 days since I began using WordPress in 2008.

If you want to take a Post out of general circulation until you update it you have two options – set the Post back to Draft or set it to Private
Me I just leave the Post active until I update or revise it – on occasions I will put a note in the Post that I found some problems or some of the info is no longer accurate
