Why did the WordPress.com reader stop working?

  I have been following blogs using the WordPress.com reader for months now, and lately it doesn’t seem to be working. It only loads content from my own blog (which I am subscribed to). It doesn’t display any posts from the other blogs I’m following. What happened?

  Howdy,

  I can see that you’ve subscribed to a handful of blogs successfully. Can you let me know what Internet browser and operating system you’re using?

  Additionally, is there anything you can think of that might have prompted this change or did it happen suddenly?

  I’m using Safari on my desktop Mac and Internet Explorer on my netbook. It doesn’t work on either.

  I don’t think there is anything specific that prompted this change. I’ve noticed that for awhile (2 weeks) sometimes the Reader worked, and sometimes it didn’t.

  To clarify, the only blogs that are showing up on my Reader are mine and 1 other (which is a WordPress created blog). All of the non-Wordpress blogs are not showing up.

  Are you referring to “Blogs I Follow”? If so, “Blogs I Follow” only works with other WordPress.com blogs.

  You can use a feed reader, such as Google Reader, to compile all of the blogs you would like to follow via their RSS feeds.

  Thanks for the info. I will have to use Google Reader instead. Strangely, “Blogs I Follow” was working for me to read non-Wordpress sites up until a few days ago. I’m not sure why that stopped working.
