Why didn't I receive a notification that someone began following my blog?

    I have a new email follower who started following my blog about 21 hours ago. I have not received an email notifying me of the new follow. I have triple checked all my email inboxes including junk and i’m sure that I did not receive a notification. My discussion setting do specify that I want to receive notification of new follow and I have received notices for my other followers. I have not changed the settings. My new follower is a Mac user if that makes any difference. Why didn’t I receive a notification about a new follower?
