Why didn't my blog go out to e-mail subscribers?
-
My blog did not go to e-mail subscribers, but went to Facebook, etc.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

hello,
here is an answer from a WP Happiness Engineer.
there’s no automated way for you to do this. WordPress.com works in such a way that people will only receive email notifications of posts if THEY sign up for it – you cannot add them to a mailing list yourself. You do have the option to invite people to follow your blog via email, but they will have the right to refuse the invitation. http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/#invite-people-to-follow-your-blog
You can always add an email button to the sharing buttons that appear at the bottom of your posts (http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/) but if you want to share your blog with several people you can always just manually email the link to them directly from your own email account.
so basically, only email subscribers will get the post if they are subscribers, please make sure the people who said they did not receive the notification are subscribed and double check your settings.

I have about 40 subscribers that get my post each week. The last 88 posts have gone out fine. They are all signed up, so it’s not that. Today, it did not go out to them, but it did post on WordPress itself and to the sharing sites.

@sondrasula – I’ve tagged this for a Staff follow up.
@csmoran9 – please share a link where you found that answer so that we can learn from the entire discussion thread. Thanks. (Edited by mod to add a link to this forum post referenced above.)

Thank you for checking this. For some reason it did not come to my email, which is how I usually know it went out. I resubscribed and it will hopefully come to my box next week.

No problem. I’ll close this thread but be sure to get in touch if you have issues next week!
