why didn't my blog post autosave?

My post disappeared and isn’t showing up in drafts. I was creating a new post and about 20 minutes in my browser had a small problem, and I had to refresh the page. I was unable to locate the draft of the post anywhere! It just disappeared.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are many reasons for this, all of them out of the control of WordPress. And know that you are not alone.

If there was a glitch in the Internet connection, and it could be a slight glitch, or you didn’t save it while you were working on it, the autosave might have glitched.

If you cannot find the post, you cannot find the revisions, and it is gone.

In the future, I recommend composing your posts elsewhere, like a text editor or word processor (last choice) to get your thoughts in order and edit the post before copying and pasting it into WordPress. Or save it as DRAFT from time to time to trigger the saving of revisions of your post.

I’ve had it happen many times, though less as the autosave improved over the years. Even with it much improved, I write most often outside of WordPress to protect my precious words and thoughts.

There are some factors WITHIN the control of WP.com though.
