Why didn't resetting password work as usual?
-
Odd password issue: I reset password, but there was only one password change field instead of one, and one to confirm, which is generally how it’s done. When I logged out; I couldn’t get back in. I had to click “lost password”, and then reset after getting a confirmation email. I did so, but it wouldn’t let me use the password I had just created, saying it had been used recently. However, that password wouldn’t let me in without resetting via email. So…I had to reset it again. This seemed odd to me. Can you help?

That sounds odd to me as well so I tagged this thread for Staff intervention. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

Sorry about that, looks like you’ve hit a loop with our new password security measures.
I recommend trying a complete new password, one that hasn’t been used before, even though the other one didn’t save completely.

Thanks, I did that, and was able to log in. I still think it’s odd though, that there was only one new password entry field, instead of two–like you see virtually everywhere else, i.e. : “type in new password”, then “confirm new password”. Is that the way it’s supposed to be, and is it part of your new security measures?

I don’t know the answer to that but maybe you will find it here > Security » Two Step Authentication
