Why do fonts change when I click on Customize?
-
Why is it that whenever I go to “customize” the fonts that I’ ve chosen….change? Let me explain that another way… I am happy with the fonts I have now but whenever I click on customize to do something else..change colors, etc… the fonts change without me doing anything.
I always have to put them back into play before exiting. Are they not defaults until I change them?

I’ve tagged this for Staff input, but could you please let us know what browser and version you are using? http://whatbrowser.org/
Also, have you tried this with a different browser?

I am using IE10 and yes it does the same thing in other browsers. It’s not a big deal but I just don’t understand why when I go to customize I see the site in a different font, and it will stay that way if I don’t change it after I am done.

Hi there,
I do see something strange happening with the custom fonts on your site. Here’s how I see your site when I visit it: https://cloudup.com/cFBVFH2E9Ka
But when I open the customizer to check your fonts, I see that Coquette is selected for the Headings and Body Text instead.
I can poke around and try to figure out why that’s happening. Since I’ll be checking and saving the settings on your blog, though, I want to make sure — you’d like the fonts to stay the way they are in my screenshot above (when I visit your site), right? I just want to make sure you end up with the fonts you want. :)

Hi Rachel,
Yes, the screen shot is indeed what I want. And the fonts you saw on the customize (coquette, etc.,) show up in Customize whenever I go there to experiment with color or change CSS. Again it’s no big deal to change the fonts back when I am done….just annoying that’s all. And thank you for tackling the issue…

Hi, I want to let you know that I checked your blog and its settings, and there’s definitely a funny glitch there. I reported it to our team to take a closer look. We’ll work on fixing it up so you don’t have to keep switching the fonts back when you use the Customizer. Please stay tuned while we work on that. :)

Any progress on this? I’m having the exact same issue with my blog:

@ethicalescalator – Thanks for your report. As I mentioned in your other thread, our developers are still looking into this issue. We’ll report back as soon as we have news about this. :)

Though slightly different, I think I may be having the same issue. Customization works in admin but after saving reverts back to default including header.

Any updates to share on this issue? Just purchased the Awesome theme and the fonts always default to Coquette when I want to customize. This does not change the fonts on the published website, but it is annoying and does not provide me with and accurate preview when customizing.
Thanks for your help!

@lindseygerstlauerphoto – No updates yet, but we’re still investigating this issue! Thanks for letting us know you’re having trouble with this.
Could you let me know the address of the blog where this is happening? Also, what fonts are you trying to set for your heading and body text? Any additional reports and details about this issue may help our team track down what’s causing it. Thanks!

Hello! We’ve made an update to Custom Fonts this morning that should fix the font preview troubles you reported.
Could you try going to Appearance > Customize > Fonts and let me know if everything is working as it should now?
