Why do I cannot access some WordPress.com blogs, after disabling RC4 & AES-128?
-
When turning off RC4- and AES-128 encryption like described here: http://www.bitblokes.de/2013/09/security-tipp-von-mr-kwin-martin-graesslin-firefox-sicherer-machen/
some blogs aren’t reachable any more (connection refused).
Turning them on again doesn’t fix the issue.
It does not appear on every WordPress.com blog.Originally I opened a bug against WordPress.org: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/27607
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Can you let me know a WordPress.com blog that you’re having trouble accessing now that you have turned off the encryption methods you mentioned?
-
I can provide a list:
Upgraded WordPress.com blogs:
Free WordPress blogs:
And many, many more :-S
-
Those encryptions are likely required for accessing WordPress.com sites. I believe the AES-128 encryption specifically is required. Can you try removing and then re-installing Firefox?
-
So I purged the firefox (moved my .mozilla directory to another place first) and reinstalled it.
Even with a fresh profile it doesn’t work. Same timeout as before.
I’m afraid I messed up my firefox :-/
