Why do I get emails from some of the blogs I follow and not others?

I find it puzzling that when I subscribe to a blog, I sometimes get an email when they post something new.
But not always.
Does anybody know why this is?
*THIS IS NOT ABOUT MY OWN BLOG* (So you don’t have to ask an unnecessary question simply to better your stats).

It looks as if the WordPress experts aren’t so expert at WordPress.
That’s the problem with an open forum instead of proper, technical assistance.
