Why do I get emails that say an account has been added to your WordPress site"

  I have not set up my blog, but I have had many emails coming saying my WordPress site has a ”new user.” I don’t know who these ”users” are and am worried the accounts are being used for spam.
  Thanks for any help you can send….my inbox is overwhelmed with spam.

  It sounds like the kind of notification you get for a wordpress.ORG site, not a WordPress.COM site. When you hover over the My Sites link on the grey admin bar, what sites turn up?

  I haven’t set up my site, so it just says “Set up site.” I can’t find any place to delete other users.
