Why do I get visitors from my country?

Hi! I keep getting visitors from the country I am in. When I was in Russia, I got visitors from Russia. Now I’m in Turkey and I get visitors from Turkey. Although my blog is in English and targeted at the English-speaking audience. Is WordPress or my host (Bluehost) or maybe Google tracking my location and showing my website to people who are located in the same country as I am?

Hey @levydogs, what are you using to get the visitor stats from?

Chances are that your views were being counted which is why it’s showing visitors from that country. You can make it so that if it’s a logged in user it won’t count, you can also provide IP address so it won’t count you as a visitor. But this completely depends from provider to provider.

Also, you seem to be using bluehost for your website which uses the self-hosted version of wordpress. This forum is for wordpress.com related queries. You can learn more about the differences at https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

Your query will get better answers at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
    I hope this helped.
