Why do I have 2 Home pages?

  • Unknown's avatar

    I am using Pique theme. I have 2 Home pages and can’t figure out how to remove one. Even if I unpublish the page, it still shows. I set the page up as a static page following the instructions, but now I am just stuck. Been trying to figure it out for 2 days. Anyone know why I see 2 home pages? Thanks for helping!

  • Hi there,

    I checked out your site and only see one home page. Are you referring to having two pages that have the placeholder text?

    Let me know, thanks!

    Hi Darnell,
    Yes, the 2 pages with placeholder text was the problem. But thankfully, I finally I figured out my error about an hour ago!
    (I had set the static page as the home page, and I also had Panel 1 as the home page. Once I removed panel 1, the problem was solved.)
    Thank you so much for trying to help – I appreciate your time.

  • Glad that you figured it out!

    If you don’t mind my asking, is there a way to lighten the static home page? It has a very dark overlay which hides the logo. I found some info in the forums that says you can change the CSS, but I find no way to do that with the free wordpress.com version.

    This is the css code I found:

    .pique-panel-background {
    opacity: 1;
    }

    .pique-panel-background:before {
    background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.3);
    }

    Thanks!

  • Hi there,

    I see what you are saying with the overlay. Unfortunately, you will not be able to lighten the page without the use of CSS which is only available through out Premium and Business Plans.

    Let me know if you are interested in either plan.

    Thanks!

    Okay, thank you for helping me with these issues.
    (I will most likely upgrade the plan in a few months.)
    Thanks! :)
