Why do i have certificate issues?
-
Hello,
I bought my domain through through WP with the premium package, but upon entering my own site I am first routed to a security certificate warning page. This page asks if I am sure I want to enter because the certificate says .wordpress but I am going to the 3bsc.com. I recently launched my business and I have like zero activity. I really hope others havent gotten that warning and it is negatively impacting my business. I tried all of the other fixes, but nothing is working. Please help. I need this security certificate issue resolved on your end ASAP. Thank you. -Marco

Hi there!
When you connect to your Dashboard or blog over an HTTPS connection, we use an SSL certificate to encrypt your connection. SSL certificates need to be signed to a specific domain, and we can’t provide certificates for every mapped domain, so our certificate is signed for WordPress.com.
When you go to your own domain with https:// but your security software sees a certificate signed to http://wordpress.com/ it’s altering you that WordPress.com may be intercepting your connection, which of course is perfectly fine.
Most security systems like this should have a way to add a permanent exception so you will never see the warning again in this instance.
To prevent your readers running into this in their browsers, just make sure that whenever you provide a link to your blog or post it anywhere, that you post it as http://alternativecapital.ca/ and not https://alternativecapital.ca/
You can read more about this here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
That page will also give you instructions on how to disable that pop-up on your browser.
Let me know if you have further questions! Thank you for using WordPress!
