Why do I have disturbing lines in my right hand column?
-
My website bestinpackaging.com shows disturbing lnes in the right hand column. I don’t know where they come from and I can’t get rid of them. Can you tell me what is happening?

Hi there!
It looks like this is being caused by the broken Readmill widget. To remove it, just go to the Widgets panel in your Customizer and find the Readmill widget in your Secondary Sidebar.
Additionally, this red box is only viewable by logged in account holders with the ability to edit the widgets. None of your readers will have seen this box.
Let me know if I can help further!

Thanks, it looks like that that’s the answer. I deleted the ReadMill widget and indeed the (red) lines disappeared.
I have one more question. I know it’s something completely different, but maybe you can bring me in contact with the right person. I use the theme: Oxygen. I like it very much and it’s perfect for my blog(s). However some months ago I bought a supplement for making some changes. It didn’t work out, as what I want changed wasn’t within the scope of the theme. Nevertheless I want to make the changes. I understand that I have to pay something extra, but we can discuss that,
In short what I want is: The slideshow has a white text bar with black letters. I want it the other way round, a black text bar with white letters.
If possible I want the size of the primary and the secondary sidebar identical, which opens the possibility for the main text column to be enlarged to (preferably) 540 pixels (13,72cm with 100dpi).
Can I talk with somebody about this?
Thanks in advance

I’m happy to help you with that!
The slideshow has a white text bar with black letters. I want it the other way round, a black text bar with white letters.
Try this:
.featured-post .entry-title a { background: #000; color: #fff; }If possible I want the size of the primary and the secondary sidebar identical, which opens the possibility for the main text column to be enlarged to (preferably) 540 pixels (13,72cm with 100dpi).
This is a little bit more complicated because of all the containers that need to be resized. I wasn’t able to come up with a set of code that would work without breaking something.
However, we do have a great team of CSS experts over in the CSS forum. If anyone can help you figure this out, they can:

Sorry about that! If you head into your Customizer, you’ll see one of the tabs is titled “CSS”. Open that panel and paste the code I gave you into the text box.
Here’s some more information about editing your CSS code:

Shawna, I was too quick. I still have a small problem. The textbar in the slide at the homepage is indeed now black. However the date is still in white. Is it a big problem to change the date also in a black background?
Thanks in advance -
Sure! Here’s some code for that:
.featured-post .entry-meta { background: #000; } .entry-date { color: #fff; } .entry-date:hover { color: #fff; } -
