Why do I have dotcom.wordpress.com
-
I want to create MicahMcVicker.com. NOT micahmcvickerdotcom.wordpress.com. I received an email saying my card was charged $99 total. So why does micahmcvicker.com redirect to micahmcvickerdotcom.wordpress.com?
Blog url: http://micahmcvickerdotcom.wordpress.com/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

http://micahmcvicker.com/ appears to be working just fine now.
Are you still having trouble?
-
Okay. Here goes.
I just opened micahmcvicker.com. On my browser, it says “not found.” But it has my Twitter widget and Facebook like box. So I’m confused about that.I wanted to create my website with a whole new account. I bought the $99 value bundle while I was logged into micahmcvickersavannahnow.wordpress.com. I have a few blog posts there — and two others at micahmcvicker.wordpress.com that I want to consolidate into MicahMcVicker.com.
But I don’t know if I can because I fear I bought the value bundle while logged into an account I already had; I never received any log-in information for MicahMcVicker.com. I want the value bundle, my picture, Twitter widget and Facebook like box to be associated with MicahMcVicker.com. NOT micahmcvickersavannahnow.wordpress.com.
Does that make sense?

You’re seeing that because you don’t have any posts on the blog. Once you add a post, the error will be replaced by it. Alternatively, you could just assign a different front page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
Does that make sense?
It does. I have moved http://micahmcvicker.com/ to micahmcvickersavannahnow.wordpress.com as requested. Consequently, the reply to the preceding question no longer applies.

Understood. I will wrote a new post.
We may have had a misunderstanding — I was hoping my purchases from micahmcvickersavannahnow.wordpress.com would be moved to micahmcvicker.com.
-
Yes, that’s exactly what I did. The bundle and domain micahmcvicker.com now belong to micahmcvickersavannahnow.wordpress.com.
A domain needs to be mapped to an existing WordPress.com blog, it’s not a separate site on its own.

Please ignore my question above. Instead, the following question is the one to which I’d like an answer: How can I move https://micahmcvicker.wordpress.com/ to my micahmcvickersavannahnow username and website?
I was an intern in Savannah and since that’s over, I’d like to drop the “SavannahNow” portion from my name.
I think I transfer the blog name “micahmcvicker” to another user? Since I’m the other user, can I do that on my own?
I want to make sure I do this correctly.
Thank you. -
To transfer a blog to another user, please follow the instructions here.
Let us know if you have any questions regarding the process.

I am sorry for the delay. I was unable to address this recently. I am attempting to import my blog — step two of the instructions hyperlinked above — but I do not remember my login information for MicahMcVicker.wordpress.com so that I may log in and import my blog.
-
If you don’t have access to your account or forgot the password, you can request a new password over here.
Please follow the instructions carefully. You’ll receive two separate emails during the reset process, so make sure you read them both. If you don’t receive the emails right away, check your spam folders as well. The confirmation emails can get caught in them sometimes :)

I go to log in, put in MicahMcVicker as my username. This – The e-mail could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function… – appears.
How can I change my settings if I cannot login? I’m confused.
-
That sounds like you’re referring to a self-hosted blog elsewhere.
Are you using http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword or are you resetting your password elsewhere?
-
I’m using that link. I’ve exported my blog from micahmcvickersavannahnow.wordpress.com successfully. I was able to change the password associated with that blog.
Now, I’m trying to log in to micahmcvicker.wordpress.com to import MicahMcVicker. It says the password — [password removed from public forum] — is incorrect. I went to the link you provided, entered “MicahMcVicker” in the username or email box.
That took me to: This email could not be sent. Possible reason: Your host may have disabled the mail() function.

Hm, very odd. It seems to be working just fine for me.
However, the account micahmcvicker no longer exists, which is what the problem probably is.
21 days ago, the user chose to change username from micahmcvicker to micah20mcvicker, thus voiding the username micahmcvicker.

The blog http://micahmcvicker.wordpress.com/ belongs to the user micah20mcvicker, so you’ll need to log in as that user.
