Why do I have duplicate files in my Media Library?

  When I moved my site from self-hosted site on wordpress.org to wordpress.com it seems that all my media files are duplicated. I’ve been trying to do some cleanup, but there are a ton of them. Can this be corrected more easily?

  Most often, this error is caused by accidentally clicking the import option twice.

  I’m afraid we are unable to delete these files for you as there is the potential for deleting the image files that are included in your posts. Unfortunately, the best option is to delete the images yourself, slowly but surely, so as to avoid any display issues with your blog.
